Huh... didn't see that coming

Would be curious to see if Charlie brings in an actual offensive coordinator this time around.

Well if Charlie is looking for a new OC with previous experience Phil Fulmer would have that and in addition also previously served as the OL coach as well. However between Phil and Charlie it might get a bit crowded on the sidelines.

Phil Fulmer would be an excellent line coach. As OC? Not so much.

Didn't see that one comming either.

Knoxville, Do you really see Fulmer here? I am not sure what he brings. More importantly he has been associated with Tenn. for so many years I think he would never consider another program.

I'm thinking Knoxville made the comment as a vehicle for a fat joke.

At any rate, I laughed.

If Haywood does end up leaving for a head coaching job, I could see Charlie bringing in one of "his guys" the way he did with Corwin Brown. Whoever it would be, I hope they are as fired up as Corwin and able to instill in our guys the intensity we haven't yet seen. Especially on the OL.

IndyTom...good insight, besides Fulmer, if he stays in coaching, wants to be a head coach and not an assistant.

Washington, you're going to hire Mike Haywood?! Seriously?!

doubt that...highly.

Any chance of getting Ralph Friedgen AND Fulmer on board?

Mike81-
I think Mangino would round out that quartet nicely.

Please, ND emergency services couldn't deal with 4 heart attacks at once!

You have to wonder sometimes how any of those guys can function at a high level with all of their physical problems.

Wow can you imagine how the four of them would look on the "Over 50" team as the DL?

Current QB Brown Alert Level:

Yellow (Bench pressing Steely McBeam)

The telling thing in this conversation is that the Husky admins have career experience at LSU and are already familiar (and friends with) Mike Haywood.

If not for that, I don't understand why UW would talk with him. Haywood should take a head coaching position at a Mac or smaller tier school to start with.

It looks like CFBdatawarehouse didn't make their payments (account suspended), but if I could look it up, I would point out that historically, UW is still a top 10-20 school in the career W/L dept (or so my weak memory leads me to believe).

Perhaps it's UW's attempt to deflect possible racism accusations? Who knows. Or it could be Haywood just trying to get his name out there. All the best to him and UW either way.

There's a mis-spelling too - "alter" should in fact be spelled "altar"

Does U-Dub have to be talking to Haywood about HC duties? Any chance Haywood leaves on his own to be an OC somewhere else (if he's not pushed out?)

GSDomer,

Doesn't the new head coach bring in his own OC, or at laest hire the new staff? Unless UW has a head coach already lined up, I don't think they would be able to hire an OC at this time.

Haywood? What?
