If they let Hand and McAlarney back into school there should be zero chance they'll deny Kuntz if he does what he needs to do. Considering what Hand went through I am sure Weis had laid out a detailed plan for Kuntz to follow so he can return. I'll be rooting for him. |
Hear, hear. We're all pulling for you, Pat. |
Attrition is normal. |
The rumors, and yes they are rumors that I heard, was that Webb was gone forever. I had read that ND was going to move Webb from a FB scholarship to an academic scholarship. I hope it is all false and that he can make it back but from the sounds of it, it is a pretty serious injury. |
In a parallel universe: |
Kuntz's situation is reminiscent of Bill Laimbeer's |
Webb is done with football for good. His shoulder is wrecked. |
Since Kuntz is so banged up right now, at least the timing of his academic lapse is fairly benign. He'll miss his teammates, dorm buddies, and the Dome Life (the polar opposite of Thug Life) so much that when he does make it back, he'll play like a man possessed. |
I agree that normally attrition is not a problem, as you can bring in more guys who think they have a chance. However, I wonder with the attrition where this leaves the team in total scholarships. Is Charlie going to have to start bringing in 25 guys a year like OSU/GA, etc. and assume he will lose 3 to 4 a year to grades, jail, etc. |
Off the subject: I don't get all the buzz about Matt Ryan in the NFL draft this year. His completion % was 59%. That doesn't exactly jump off the page. And he threw 19 interceptions this year. 19! |
More players should 'opt out' of the Mendoza school of 360 lb lineman bench pressing 305, and QB's being the strongest/fastest players on the team. Hopefully, Kuntz will bring the books to the gym every day. |
24 hour: |
Speaking of over-rated quarterbacks, did Jamocha Russell, the 8th wonder of the world, do anything this season? |
Let's hope Kuntz comes back b/c we need his intensity and leadership. Justin Brown is a good sub but isn't dominating and its now or never for Mullen and Wade. Usually, if a player doesn't make an impact by his junior year, then it won't happen. This is a proving year for CW's flagship recruiting class who are now juniors. |
"did...Russell, the 8th wonder of the world, do anything this season?" |
In Russell's first, and only, start this season, his first pass on the first play of the game was an INT to a defensive lineman right at the line of scrimmage. Good thing he can throw the ball sixty yards while sitting down. |
Yeah, I was thinking all year that it would be fun to see the Raider offense with numerous plays where Jamarcus would roll left, quickly go to his knees and then fire the ball 60 yds to an open receiver. Its a good thing Tom Brady got his records this year as there is no known defense for the 60 yds from the knees play. |
I feel bad for Russell, he'll most likely not be the superstar the ESPN engine just loves to make. By the way, Troy Smith the other ESPN Heisman trophy project, at least he completed a touchdown this year. That is a big stride from his place holding duties. |
A team of Mini-Ditkas against a team of kneeling JaMarcus's. Discuss. |

The Mini-Ditkas concede some early points to JaMarcus and the Technicolor Dreamcoaters, but are able to use superior conditioning and pure kilbasa-power to overpower the occasionally brilliant but generally unfocussed Russell Athletic Kneewalkers. |
LSU commit Patrick Johnson, the best Cornerback recruit in America, is calling Florida and it's coach, The Chinless Bucketheaded Bitch, "cowards" for alledging that Johnson's ACT score of 22 is likely fraudulent. His recent 22 following a pair of 16's would certainly be a miracle, and the cbb's rule of thumb seems to be that if Johnson's not playing for the Gators then he sure as hell ain't gonna be playin' for Les "Character and Integrity" Miles down in Batawn Rooj. The cbb is going to get himself hurt if he keeps fuggin with people. LMAO. |
Is Urban saying that Johnson couldn't spell ACT if you spotted him the A and the C? |
Good one Joe Sub! A brilliant reference to Hollywood Henderson's slap at Terry Bradshaw. Well done! |
You are correct, sir! |
Voice, I am certain the CBB is just doing his part to be vigilant and help everyone to maintain the impressive academic standards of the Gators and the entire SEC, for that matter. Oh, wait...nevermind. I can't even type that with a straight face! |
Changing gears, where is the outrage from Corso, Wilbon, May and others over the comments made by Dana Jacobsen last week about Catholicism and ND?? She should be fired!! |
They wanted her to go to rehab, she said "No, no, Notre Dame." |
Sorry to be so uninformed, but what did Dana say now? Links? |

face.html |
I've never understood how Dana Jacobson could actually make a living on television. Hers is definitely a face for radio. That gummy smile and giant, ten-gallon melon head are hard to watch. Wise Americans will decline to purchase HDTV until there is a reasonable guarantee that they won't accidentally catch a glimpse of her while channel surfing. She is best observed with as few pixels possible. |
NDNation's Mike hit it right on the head, why hasn't anything been done about this incident yet? Its been what, a week or so? If these comments were made about an alternate religion (oh lets say Islam or the Jewish faith), she wouldve been canned, parted and quartered with her head on a spike somewhere. But this double standard we live in has let this happen. |
By the way, shouldnt Dana Jacobson be on Capitol Hill? With a massive rock head like that, and shoulders that compete with Bonds', that man-beast should be investigated for steroid use. |
On the blog in the right hand column under Everyday Should Be Saturday, there is an interesting article on Urban Myer and statements from the recruits he was attempting to pry away from committed schools. Quite an impressive list of indictments. |
To be fair, there is one report out there (on Deadspin) that says she did say "F*** Jesus" and another report that says she did not. Since nobody's seen the video yet, I don't think it's fair to give credence to one story and not the other, when we truly have no idea. |
Think you guys need a new post, "Recruiting is far from over". |
ESPN....860-766-2000 to register your complaints. |
dana jacobson is not worthy of the words we post, so i think we should drop it/her. on a more exciting level, i heard that one of urbie's prays (former ND commitment) is reconsidering ND again. for some reason he didnt like uga and his parents contacted chawlie, the nd staff have reopned the comunications w/him. this is not to say that nd is his favorite, but there is the possibilty that he could come full circle... |
Don't the Beatitudes list a blessing that goes something like this... |
iuirish is absolutely right about Jacobson's choice of religions to defame. It's open season on Christianity. If she had said "F*@# Muhammad" a "death-to-the-infidel" order would have already been issued by some peace-loving Imam. |
Great post. |

Salmon Rushdie got a death sentence for trashing Muhammad. Hmmmm. |

Superb recruiting vis a vis seasons record on Sunday Morning QB. See right hand margin for "other daily reads." Note that ND under CW has had two 8 ranked classes back to back, but terrible classes prior to his arrival. |

That would be huge. |

Tuesday reading for you all: |

SO I GUESS JUSTIN TUCK IS ON JIM ROME IS BURNING TODAY...IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO HEAR WHAT HE WILL SAY |
there was a recruiting guru on another site whop posted that omar's parents were disappointed that theor son "decommitted" from nd. he also stated that his parents talked to weis and wanted their son to explore the option of reconsidering nd. obviously something (urbie) happened recently b/c the same guy reported that omar is expected to announce he's gatorbait all w/in 24hrs. sorry for getting anyone's hopes up. funny how a 18 yr old kid listens to football coaches more than his own parents. |
It was fun while it lasted. |
UF is fast becoming the kind of lawless cesspool The U was in the 80s. Good luck to OH in staying out of the way of the stray bullets, blow and creeping idiocy. |
More problems with Hand? Link please. |
Pat, Jay, etc.: |
For the first time in over 7 months we lost our #1 ranking at Rivals. The new #1 is Florida...b/c of Omar Hunter's commitment. Uggh. |
There really is no story on Dana Jacobson, is there? She said something incredibly stupid, she apologized, and she got suspended for a week. Granted, it would have been nice if it had all happened a bit sooner but I think it's pretty much over by now. Especially since nobody really cares about her anyways. |
Anyone hear the Carroll to 'Skins rumor? Mad Dog on WFAN was saying that Caroll is interested in the job, that he wants to leave USC because he sees the scandals coming back to him and that Snyder is just deciding whether he wants to go back to a college coach after the Spurrier fiasco. Consider the source (Mad Dog) but I was just wondering if this has been whispered anywhere else. |
Jade, I could not agree more about the Jacobson story. |
More on Urban Meyer and his less than honest recruiting tactics. |
WORD ON THE STREET IS URBIE IS BEING INVESTIGATED |
USC broke violations...but not in football. oj mayo took basketball tickets from carmelo anthony. he will continue to play until ncaa grows some balls. sounds eerily familiar to another sc athlete...cough cough reggie bush. |
I've been dealing with bullshit all day. Anybody got any good news? And yes, The Chinless Bucketheaded Bee-yotch is under some scrutiny for the way he got his juco WR recruit by calling the dude's girlfriend a bazillion times and then getting her a gymnastics scholarship to Florida! Probably arranged for them to live in a 4000 square foot luxury condo and threw in his and hers Escalades. Obviously I'm just kidding with regards to a condo or cars, but the rest is TRUE. |
Some possible schedule rumors... |
Voice; The amazing thing about the JC's girlfriend is she had been on a scholarship to UCLA, but due to injury had to give up the sport. Now Meyer comes up with a scholarship from a very good UF gymnastic program. |
Also, of the 41 scholarship players from Zook's last class and Meyers first class, only 13 remain. |
Now girlfriends of pussy whipped 4 and 5 star recruits everywhere are going to expect to be a part of the deal! ND has Parietals, and Urban's arranging co-schollies for 20 year old lovers. That evil little shit is playing with fire. |
And one more thing... |
To think that Hunter called Meyer "awesome", makes me wonder what the kid's definition of awesome is really. Florida served suspensions in the past. Meyer will take himself down, and how glad I am that he turned down ND. |
"If the [NCAA] will protect a Scumbag like me, then it will protect all of you . . . 'cause I'm the worst." |
Derrell Hand has some sort of congenital spinal problem which may signal the end of his career: |
Carroll is not going anywhere. He won't face any punishment and his recruiting class for next year will be one of the best of all-time. |
