I think if anything they will only redshirt one of the incoming freshman TEs.

Just when you think we're past the "personal reason" occurrences...

Maybe we have one every single year...I just never noticed before.

I was thinking "Bummer in Summer" by Love when I first read the headlines.
I'm feel a little better about the situation in that Fauria plans on coming back. ND is all about coming back. Plus, I didn't want to lose another TE from my adopted state.

To make the post not such a bummer.
We got 2 new commits. Good ones too.
So far during the Weis Era.
Notre Dame has always had GREAT TEs.
I didnt know John Carlson was one of the top TEs of the NFL.

Seriously, do you guys ever get the feeling "personal reasons" is code for something else? Like a discipline issue of some kind? Something just seems weird with these happening every year.

I think "personal reasons" basically means anything the player does not want to discuss in the media. Discipline is not something to brag about and neither is bad grades. It is a little touchy discussing family problems or family sickness also so I think it just depends.

Blake Lueders committed.

...let's all start speculating on just what these "personal reasons" actually are. I'll go first...I believe that in every instance with Walls, Gray, Fauria, et al...the reason is that their fathers were all owners of small grocery stores where the produce guy (no manager there!)...the produce guy came down with a dose of e-coli from handling lettuce from the Salinas Valley.

Makes about as much sense as your speculation...and don't EVEN let me hear you say, "that, jim/redondo beach, is none of my business". jeeze...

From what I have heard and read, it is not a family situation... He screwed up bad enough not be able to be readmiitted until next January.
Compared to other schools, it doesn't take much.....

I hope that some industrious bloggers out ther (hint, hint) will do some digging and try to find out exactly what it was that led to a kid feeling he had no choice but to leave the school he had always dreamed of playing for. What kind of gestapo does ND have running that place?
