8 am shotgun?

Why so late? I'll be out there around 5, right across from the now famous Belmont liquors at some old lady's house where I tailgate. I'll be the one wearing a construction helmet painted gold, a "We-Is ND" shirt, drinking and cursing at the 36 inch tv in the back of a Durango. Let the games begin.

OMG OMG OMG I can't wait 28 hours.

I love ya, Tomorrow. You're only a Day away!

Tommy Z will start at QB.

I think you summed up all of our collective thoughts perfectly, Pete.

ND- 28
GT- 21

GO IRISH!!!

Where is the other picture of Sean Astin from?

I have to agree with the negative view. I see 8-4 as a good benchmark for the season. That means
- we beat all the teams less talented than ours
- our team learns how to win with a new quarterback
- We springboard to a really good 2008 with the new defensive recruits.

It's still Jiiiimmmeeeeyyyyy!

40-13

There are four key games in judging this ND team: GT, PSU, BC, UCLA.

We always lose to Top Ten caliber teams (UM '05 caliber is debatable). Fine. But we DON'T LOSE to teams that aren't top 10 caliber (save MSU in OT almost 2 years ago).

To me, those are the games I'm dying to see the most.
(Why am I going to Southern Cal?)

My personal predictions for the year:

8-4, we beat a team we shouldn't, we lose to a team we shouldn't - hopefully not Goddamn BC, and only partly because it's the day after my wedding and the party will be watching it. Mostly because I hate freaking BC.

Between Armando and Golden, we take three kickoffs back to the house. I feel good about this one.

Demetrius will do well, but still will not start the whole season.

Michigan will lose two games. Three, if we beat them.

FIRE IT UP!

One thing that is never talked about is one of the biggest keys of this season. The intangible that is the Notre Dame Spirit, and it is back with a vengeance. Four years ago, 6-6 or 7-5 would be acceptable or even good for this squad and the circumstances surrounding it. This year, any loss will be heartbreaking, and there will be some great upsets and fierce battles on the field. We may not be national champions at the end of the season, but we'll have something far greater... Respect. GO IRISH!!!!

Sean Fitzgerald - Here's your answer

I don't know, it's the same issues every year with Notre Dame football.

Domestic or import?
Small keg or a couple of cases?

Finger sandwiches or brats?

Cheese dip or crab cakes?

Kick the dog out for the day?

Tolerate the wife or give her the credit cards?

Mute button or bitch at the announcers?

Run to the computer at TV time-outs, read what the guys are saying on BGS or wait til the game is over and I'm juiced?

Man, I can't wait. The Sugar Bowl is still bitter in my mouth.

This is going to be the type of year that is quite enjoyable for the most knowledgable and discerning of fans (I'll hate it).

I'm expecting an '86-like season, the main difference being that we win more of the close ones than we lose. Also, I expect this to be a noticeably better team in 3-4-5 weeks.

Regardless, we will be the talk of college football.
Again.

Go Irish

Bullfrog, way to be a man and schedule the wedding on a Friday.

I'm conflicted between optimistic and pesimistic Frodo. I see 8-4 as a satisfactory record. I would say 7-5 is the worst I could live with while 9-3 would be pleasantly surprising. 10-2 = Charlie is a god.

Pete, I think you craweled into my head. It is a scary place, isn't it? I have delusions of a 9-3 season and nighmares of starting 0 for whatever. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the new kids play!

Help! One of my co-workers keeps lightly whistling the Michigan fight song, just loud enough for me to hear it. What should I do? Any good suggestions?

Tolerate the wife or give her the credit cards?

Man, Mrs. Subway Alum is one lucky lady...

Joel -
What's the mailing address of the co-workers?
I'll Overnight the dog and the little woman to them.

Joel,

If you have a computer handy and some big ol speakers, I've got your cure.

www.fightmusic.com

Scroll down to the "major independent schools".

Crank it up.

My co workers seem to be giggling every half hour I press the play button on Windows Media Player 11.

by the way....

It's still gonna be...

Jiiiiiiimmmmmeeeeyyyy!

One game at a time, boys.

What's more, I proposed on the bye week last year.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I hope that dog is really yippy. Unfortunately, I can't open that fightmusic link because company software blocks it.

Less than 24 hours!

Win or lose, I'm a big supporter of CW

The wife and I were gonna be in the 'Bend for the weekend, joining family & friends at Corby's tonight, tailgating tomorrow, and watching the game with aforesaid family & friends. However, we both became swamped with work and had to cancel at the last minute. The only upside? I'll still be able to join my fellow BGSers online and dive into the fray that occurs during every game. In the meantime, I need to proceed through Subway Alumni's questions above and prepare for tomorrow...

Dude in the shirt and tie, suck it. Dude sporting the #45 jersey, the desire to drink a bottle of Jameson and run through a brick wall is beginning to overwhelm. Care to join me?

Highly recommend spending a few moments with the YouTube link above. Had never see the parody before. Outstanding! No need to watch the entire episode to set table, just skip to the 19:53 mark and enjoy.

my god, did they sign on the entire cast of Rudy for this episode??

I guess it is on NBC...

Nicely done, though, I'd have to say that having Rudy Ruettiger in your head is worth seeing the doctor about.

ArmchairIrish.com gave you a shout out in the News section.

wg

Joel,

Kill him. Slowly. Hide the body.

Anybody watch Jeopardy tonight? I'd say that's a good start to the weekend...

AHHHHH start the game already!!

Gameday baby!!

WHAT A DEVESTATIUNG SEZAON!
