Hopefully he'll get the better quality divx version up soon!!!

Wow. Its amazing what a little editing will do for you...we almost look good.

I still think the following is the best highlight/montage I've ever seen...and we even won the game. Makes me proud to be an ND fan. Also makes me miss the 80s.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O...h? v=OI3kQtDxHHg

I tear up watching this and Field of Dreams. Call me a wuss.

Also, (watching it again) as much as I hate to, I have to give credit to Jimmy Johnson. Growing up, he was the antichrist as far as I was concerned. My parents (ND grads) hated him, and thus so did I. But he had the balls to go for two, and I have to give him credit for it. What a game.

Wow, so much young talent. Makes me almost optimistic... Seriously though, if we can get some kind of rhythm going on offense next year, it could get exciting. We don't play a team that finished the season ranked until we play BC.

Great news about Trevor Robinson too, he sounds like a beast.

If our O-Line can actually gel together and play consistently, we will be a team to be feared. This season has made that a rather large "if" though. However, I'm optimistic! Go Irish! Win a bowl game!

What is the name of the song in Nevin's video?

Wow!
Talk about turning a lemon season into lemonade...!

The song is called The State of Massachusetts and is by the Dropkick Murphys

she had excuses and she chose to use them
she was the victim of unspeakable abuses
her husband was violent, malicious and distant
her kids now belong to the state of Massachusetts!

they've been taken away!
they've been taken away!

[chorus:]
Billy was the bright one
tommy's off his head
mother loved them both the same,at least thats what she said
i don't predict the future, i don't care about the past
send them both to DSS, now you had your chance
the posion took your babies
the judges took your rights
you can have your children or the night!
I supposed youve been a victim
though i suspect you may have lied
have youlost all ambition why don't you give this thing a try
if you can't and you fail won't be the only loser
these kid don't stand a chance with you in their future!

they've been taken away!
they've been taken away!

Excellent. ND and DKM. Not sure the folks from BC would like that. ;)

not a single snap from the USC game. nice. i really want to erase that from my memory anyway.

What i'd really like to see is a bloopers compilation set to the Benny Hill theme song. Perhaps with bonus behind the scenes commentary by Sully, TT, Latina, Mendoza, and the Genius himself.

I NEED MORE ANELLO!!!!!

We appreciate this review of a season that will be the stepping stone to much better things in the near future. Thanks so much.

To those who can never seem to find a positive thought, why don't you try just being appreciative of having a school like Notre Dame to support.

Perhaps Jay Leno will choke on the next piece of Chicken he eats.

13-0 next year. Welcome, Trevor Robinson! Deion Walker, Gerell Robinson, Cyrus Gray and Kenneth Page... COME ON DOWN! Let's make this the best recruiting class of all-time.

Rich Rodriguez took the Michigan job. Turns out Charlie's trip down to WVU to learn all about his spread offense might come in handy after all...

I See A GREAT Team Next Year

=]

They can refer to AA as Morgantown West.

How good a fit is Rodriguez going to be at Michigan? He runs a spread offense that requires a nimble-footed quick QB and he inherits Ryan Mallett. Now if Mallett stays at Michigan is another question. Rodriguez is not going to be able to rcruit some of the thugs that he recruited at WVU and the academic requirements are going to be a bit stiffer with the Skunks. Rodriguez can't change his offensive philosophy and Michigan doesnt have the personnel to run the spread offense. It may take him 2 or 3 years to be able to get the type of players that he will need. Will Michigan be that patient? I believe the Mountaineer fans are glad to see him go, truthfully, he held them hostage with the Alabama job last year. Reading the Free Press this morning I had to laugh, Rodriguez kept saying that he wouldnt discuss anything but the Fiesta Bowl and that if questions persisted about his interviewing with Michigan then he was going to end the press conference. My question would have been why are you holding a press conference about the Fiesta Bowl in this hotbed of media called Ann Arbor? Why else would you be in Ann Arbor, to visit your best friend John Beilien and watch them lose to Central Michigan, when there are blizzard conditions in this area. If he was so concerned about the Fiesta Bowl and his team then why didnt he tell Michigan that he would talk to them after the first of the year when the bowl games were over and if the job was still available. I know Rodriguez has strong ties to Michigan, being that he graduated from WVU. I believe he is another Saban and Michigan better hope another golden opportunity doesnt present itself to RR during his stay in AA.

Perhaps Weis new WAY before any one else that Rodriguez may go to Michigan and that's why he went to visit them before last season....just a theory.

charlies high water mark was 5 secondsahead od sc in the 2005 sc game at home -after bush pushed lienart in to win notre dame football never recovered from that bitter defeat- can he select 5 great assistant coaches to teach nds best recruits in twenty years or will weis do a reduex of the last three seasons ?-losing 60 lbs by discipline and nutrisystem, and attending MASS ,insteadof bon jovi at 500am followed by team running for 1 hour evey day for 10 months , with his fat f mouth shut would be a good start!

Xanax and zoloft cocktails may be the answer for you, brother.

I think James may be another SC commitment, lol.

The Hughes highlight made me tear up a bit...

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please?... Tonight the role of OSU is Righteous will be played by James Dougherty. Thank you.

james dougherty,

Is Pete Doherty your role model?

Thanks Nevin. There is hope.

This video reminds me of the fake trailer for The Shining set to Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel. It looks like a heartwarming story but in reality was a horror show.

Great job as always.

New Recurit

go look on Rivals

its another big step to help the

OL

Doug -

Everything about your 4:55 post is dead wrong.

Rodriguez is a proven winner. He has taken a backwater school with no natural recruiting base to speak of and brought it to within a game of the national championship.

He can and will change his offensive philosophy - which was born of a dearth of talent - if need be.

The people of WV are NOT sad to see him go (though I suspect some will turn on him as he leaves). He is not a Saban; it's just that he's been torn between staying close to home and moving to the big time.

Kamara, Tate, Smith, Bruton, Hughes, et al. give me hope, but I still think 7-5 is a good season next year. However, I expect 9-3 or 10-2 territory in '09.

Go Irish!

PS--I miss T-Laws already.

James - Who gave you a computer? They did the world a great disservice.

Another Trevor...and described as a beast! I'll raise a glass to that bit of news!

Joe,
Rodriguez has had the same offensive philosophy since he was at Glenville St. He had the same philosophy at Clemson when he was offensive coordinator. If you think he will be missed at WVU read some of the comments about his leaving. He did the same thing to them last year with Alabama. The people of WV expected loyalty, he was a god there to those people. A proven winner who couldnt win the biggest game of the year against a team that was 3-8, on his home field with a shot at the national championship in the balance.

I think Michigan made a good hire, but we will see if it works out. Ideally Michigan will be good enough to beat OSU (and again be nationally relevent) but not enough to beat us.

This will obviously take a large improvement on our part :)

Wow...I guess we really did have some highlights this year.. Let hope Next year's version is about an hour long .. showing our big plays offensively, defensively and even Special teams!!

No where to go but up!Go Irish!!

Rodriguez is a good coach and as an Irish fan it worries me what he may be able to do with Michigan's advantages compared to WVU's. As someone above already mentioned though, Michigan does actually have some academic standards. That should certainly slow RR down in implementing his style. Not to mention that there could not possibly be a worse fit for his offense than Ryan Mallet.

John WA:
Just what academic standards does UM have for its football players? My recollectin is that the graduation rate is barely 50%.

Domer Guy,
9-3 or 10-2 in '09? In my opinion, given the current talent we have, anything less than a national championship in 2009 will be a disappointment.

I think RR is a good hire for Michigan, but let's not forget that WVU wasn't a football backwater prior to his arrival, playing for more national titles in the 15 years prior to RR's arrival than Michigan did (on the other hand, Michigan won one). Moreover, his success in Morgantown correlates exactly to Miami and VaTech leaving the Big East.

Sam,

Your kool-aid must be a tad bit stronger than mine. Clearly I would welcome a NC in 2009, but there are about 15 other schools looking at their rosters and saying "anything less than a NC in 2009 would be a dissapointment" (Florida, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, LSU, USC, etc.).

The fact is, there will always be schools with solid programs fielding strong teams. It just so happens that 2-4 of those schools are on ND's schedule annually. Call it conservative realism on my part. Go Irish.

Thanks for the highlights, Nevin. Nice to see the good plays Notre Dame had this year. Missed seeing a video for each game, but hopefully, that'll be back next year. The young guys on the team look great, so here's to a better season in 2008.
GO IRISH!
(Living in Central PA, I especially love the Darrin Walls interception at State Penn!)

We had highlights from this year?
