oracle, we hardly knew ye. or liked ye. either way.

The Oracle is dead; long live the Oracle.

Nice job, Lou.

Those 2 shots came 11 games too late.

The band portion of this post was edited down to (I presume) be more family-friendly.

Am I missing the joke about Clinton? She in fact graduated from LSJU before going on to either Oxford or Cambridge, though I don't recall which one exactly.

According to what I found from Google, she transferred to Yale in '99.

You're right, though. It looks like she graduated from Stanford in '01. Weird.

LOL!!!!!

haha did he really interupt The Oracle?

or did yall make that up?

I love the name Notredamus.

Tell me we've all been getting set up for that ending all year! If that was planned back in August then it is pure genius!

OK...even if you just came up with that this week - you're a pure man of genius, Mr. Notre Dame Blog Writer.

As the Pick 6 owner of this handle, I give exclusive rights to the use of this moniker by the aforementioned lithpin lou

HELL YEAH, LOU!

GO IRISH!

Hell yeah, Notredamus! C'mon Irish, let's make this crappy year the first year since the early 90s that we win our last two games of the year.

i'm either not getting the joke, or i missed it. what did stanford's band do to get banished?

scratch that the stanford band question.
i checked the link.

People of Irish descent could have "knee capped" the band, all in good fun ..of course.

The thing I love about the Gipper is that according to local legend, (I live where he grew up) the Gipper didn't even take a single college class 2 of his year playing at Notre Dame and was a true freshman at age 23. You have to love any player who gets injured for the year and then just leaves campus until next season.

Now, no more Oracle crap...

GO IRISH
BEAT STANFORD

How about the Stanford {East}Indians?

Parenthesis included, this allows older alums to keep some of the nostalgia, while being inoffensive to everyone else.

I was sorry that Syracuse founded as a Methodist school dropped the Orangemen label.

Perhaps they could be reconstituted as the Syracuse Northern Irish.

Future Syracuse -ND games would be known as the "Civil War".

God Bless Lou

beautiful

guyritz,

He has.

Re: Future Syracuse-ND games comment by Dana Payne, "The Troubles Game" would be more appropriate for a match between the Syracuse Northern Irish and the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish.

Tyrone was the "Lazy M.F. Director of Football" (LMFDF).

"I also asked Harris about former Stanford and Notre Dame coach Tyrone Willingham; he replied: "Mediocre coach. Lazy recruiter."

We're all dying to know what he thinks of the current Notre Dame caoch's ability -- we could use a great laugh!

Turns out that Notredamus was correct. ND won by two touchdowns. Whether the PAC-10 refs want to acknowledge that Grimes catch or not. Well done for the final final-gun of the year.

Actually, there is some speculation that a tree at the Grotto inspired Kilmer's poem. He was a huge fan of the Grotto. However, I prefer Ogden Nash's version:

I think that I shall never see
a billboard lovely as a tree.
Perhaps, unless the billboards fall,
I'll never see a tree at all.

You know what? Fuck Reagan.
