Thunder and lightning won't work. |

Everytime we nail down a recruit like this, my whole world view becomes better for about a week. |
Agree with Brad, above. |

It's fun when a recruit comes from your own backyard. I've grew up in Readington, NJ which is literally about 5 minutes away from Somerville and I remember hearing about this kid Riddick when Hunterdon Central played Immaculatta and what a talent he was. I'm a little worried that Notre Dame has so many RB's, but it seems good that all of these kids want to play here. |
Also, a little fun fact... Jack Cust, the MLB baseball player who was listed in the Mitchell report for steroid use, went to the same highschool as Theo. And I meant to say I grew up not I've grew up in my last entry my bad |
I'm happy that we've got Wood and Riddick, they'll both be impressive (or should be). It seems to me that Aldridge, given how highly touted he was when he entered, has turned out to be something of a bust -- or is this because of O-line play? Because even with D Walker, we had better production than with Aldridge. But I think if our O-line is better this year, then Hughes, Allen, Wood, and Riddick are going to be extremely scary. |
I don't think too many running backs is ever a bad thing, especially ones that can play in the defensive backfield as well. Having kids coming in and wanting to compete against the very best to even see playing time in a game is outstanding, and reminds me of what a lot of kids say when they commit to the University of Spoiled Children. |
with all these outstanding recruits there may come a time when we won't ever lose a game again. |

It seems to me that the RB on a high school football team is a lot like the SS on a high school baseball team: most likely the best athlete on the field, and has the ability to play a number of positions, but is best used by the team in a prime role such as RB/SS. |
Reno hit it right on the nose. In high school football, the absolute best athletes on the field play 1 of three positions: QB, RB, or LB. The fastest, most agile, and purely athletic kid always plays RB, and for that reason you can never have too many RBs. Whether they play at RB, WR, CB, LB, or S their athleticism allows them to get on the field. |

Watching the video highlights of Riddick, I see a guy hitting the hole very fast - something we've been sorely missing. I also like that he goes right up the middle and makes something by reading his blocks. Shifty moves in traffic, good speed, excellent reads and hard to bring down on the first hit. What's not to like? I'm excited. |
I agree with Mike81. His video shows him burst to and through the hole. He does this so quickly that often times the defense is a step behind. I do sometimes worry about the amount of talented backs on the roster, but as someone else stated, it will only make everyone better. In regards to James Aldridge. I still have high hopes for him as I felt he was one of the biggest recruits of his class. From what I've been reading and hearing, I worry that he is being affected negatively from his injury last year. People are reporting that he just doesn't quite run with confidence. I hope he can bounce back. |
man we have alot of great backs. |
the proposed series of games against rutgers has collapsed. let's fill the open spots by getting a little in-state series going against the indiana hoosiers. that would be interesting and fun. |

Illinois would be a much more interesting series than IU. |

.....or Gators . ,'Noles or 'Canes |

Looks like Dick-Rod got his QB of the future: |
Lets hope he doesn't hang out with Will DUI Yeatman and get arrested |
What about replacing Rutgers with Cinci? They could play in the Bengals stadium without the home team having to move. Also, it would be a short trip for students/local fans? It would also work with the big east tie in. I think it's a team on the come-up and in that time Brian Kelly will have a built a solid program. |

This year will give a lot of evidence as to how Weis views the run as part of his offense. Last year we had almost no quality experience anywhere on offense: Line, backs, QB and receivers had very little. This year the line is better: stronger, more experience, more chemistry. Same is true at QB, RB and wideout. Among Allen, Aldridge, Hughes and Schwapp, there is plenty of fresh legs and talent available to use a double set backfield (at least occasionaly) and certainly a strong enough line to establish a running game that can move the chains, and not look to the QB sneak on 4th and 1. If we can't expect 200 yds per game rushing this year, it doesn't matter who we recruit. |
...the best thing about these recruits is that they weren't recruited by willingham... |
And now we'll have another set of biceps to gawk at since BQ left. |
