You are absolutely correct about this being the play/turning point of the game. I think it could have gotten pretty ugly if KMAC2 doesn't make this tackle.

I'm certainly not going to claim that I predicted the great year McCarthy is having, but I remember saying several times last season that I liked seeing him in the game because he gave 100% on every single play. If he gives 100% all the time in games, he probably gives 100% all the time in practice. Eventually good things will happen to a guy like that. I'm thrilled for him.

McCarthy is solid, but is not a great cover safety. He has been late on a number of occasions in man and with deep cover. It's easy to look at tackles and stats, but carefully looking at the game film shows that coverage skills keep him from being a standout.
