Actually I disagree, if you give most people a dSLR they will take worse pictures than an average point and shoot, it's much harder to use than a normal cam.

I know if I give my camera to most people I have to switch focus most to closest object because point focus often has them focusing behind the subject.

Plus its 90% photographer, 10% equipment, if you're good you can take better pics with a phone cam than someone who sucks can take with the flashiest dSLR.

It's akin to cutting down a tree with a table knife or a chainsaw, if you don't know what you are doing you can do it with either, if you are good, the right tool just makes the job easier and faster.

great tips and pics. for me, it comes down to the skill of the photographer and not the camera, although it does play a part in the end result.

it's like frisbee - a skilled player wearing slippers can probably play better than a less skilled one wearing Nike Air or Reebok Pump...

i play frisbee using teva sandals and usually come away with tons of blisters after the game. but still, i refrain from using my nikes unless the ground is wet and muddy.
