First off, I just want to say I'm sorry you took it so hard. Let me just explain my side of the story here.
First off, you asked me whether the 7pm or 8.15pm show. Based on that I assumed that both times were ok and convenient for you. I did NOT know that you had to rush home to prepare dinner, walk the dog etc, etc, etc. Even though I know that is your daily routine, I assumed that your family members would ganti you for tht day.
Upon finishing work, I went to happy hour with some friends. They planned to go for dinner later and were very insistent on me tagging along. I informed them that I had already committed to watch a movie with you. They told me to cancel. So, I told them, I'll check with you, if you haven't bought the tix yet, I'll go have dinner with them, if you already bought the tix, I will stick with the original plan to go movies with you. FYI, I wasn't pissed drunk yet, just on the way there.
If you had let me know that you had to rush home in order to make the movie at 7, I wish you had said so earlier so that we could have watched the one at 8.15 instead. Or at least told me so, when I asked whether you bought the tix already.
I'm really am sorry I pissed you off this way because it was never my intention to do so.

Well, I think the main reason is pissed is because she had to rush home and prepare dinner and walk the dog. I don't think she's pissed that I canceled when I heard she hadn't bought the tickets yet cos there was another friend that was going along. Hell, I don't even know if she caught the movie that day. She's been very untalktative. lol

however, i was pissed at you because you canceled at the very last minute and gave me some very lame excuse. the movie outing wasn't some random, impromptu thing ok. it was actually planned a few days ago. i don't give a fuck if you got yourself drunk after the movie. i could understand if you had to bail out due to some emergency. but bailing out just because you think you have better things to do with other friends just emphasizes the lack of respect you have towards our friendship. what do you take me for? some back-up buddy or something?
it's just plain shitty ok.
But still one shouldn't have canceled a plan made earlier, just because you're told to cancel by another ? I would love to see you canceling on your wife on your wedding day just because you're pissed drunk the night before.
So you dont think that there is anything wrong in admitting to everyone that you canceled on her just coz your work friends told you so?

Lol. Went back to try and review my text messages. But they have been deleted. Nvm. Anyway, I think there has been a bit of misunderstanding here.
My intention at all times was to inquire if you were alright with me postponing the movie to another day/date. If you had already bought the tickets or really, really wanted to see the movie that night, I would have gladly accompanied you. Beer is overrated anyway. :P
Again, I must say that I only ever wanted to see if you were ok with the option of watching the movie another night. From my point of view, there's nothing wrong with that, if you insist, I'll go, if you're ok with it, we'll catch it later.
If I really wanted to bail out on you, there are a million and one reasons I could have given to imply an emergency of some sort. Business meeting, mum falling sick, dog falling sick, ms. C falling sick, boss asking to work OT. I gave you my honest answer because it was not and has never been my intention to cabut lari cos something better came along.
Thats about all I have to say on this, I understand why you're angry, and I apologise if the initial communication wasn't very clear. However, if you consider this to be an unforgivable offence than so be it. The unforgiven walks.
