Watched you on H&C, was impressed with everything you said, would like to know more about you, what is your view on abortion?? Health care?? I think you are right on regarding the war, people are naive to think walking away is the answer, these people want to kill us, everyone better wake up, Bush is not a bad president and he did the right thing, just went about half way, not enough war power at the start. Hang in there Mr. Huckabee you are the first one I am really impressed with. Good Luck and I will be watching you!!
The 2nd amendment is not just about the right to protect ourselves - it's there to protect every other right we have, it was intended as an insurance policy against tyranny. Along with supporting gun rights Mike should run as the candidate who stands squarely opposed to the increasing soft tyranny in America. Hillary and the Congressional Democrats along with the "mainstream" media and organizations like MoveOn are the biggest threat to America's liberty and way of life. Mike can win the admiration, respect and support of conservatives & Americans all across America if he'll pledge to fight tyranny & terrorists alike.
I think Mike is considerably stronger than the other candidates when it comes to family values, 2nd amendment & pro-life issues & new ideas for education, health care, taxes & the economy.
But, if he's going to seriously challenge the frontrunners, & capture the nomination, he's going to have to demonstrate bolder leadership when it comes to fighting the war on terror. That is the defining issue of the campaign, & it is where Mike must step up and present himself as tough defender of America, committed to waging & winning the war. Bloggers who like Mike need to do the same.
I noticed this blog site has a list of links of "Mike Huckabee on the Issues", & everything is there except for his views on fighting the war, foreign policy, & homeland security. What's up with that?
Besides the war, Immigration is the other top concern for Americans. On immigration Mike is behind some of the other candidates, his more moderate, firm yet compassionate stance resonates with many of us, but it seems too soft for many conservatives. To win the nomination he needs to emphasize the firm side of his positions on immigration - build the fence, and get super tough on illegals who commit other crimes - to gain the support of more conservatives.
Finally, the conservative base of the Republican party is fed up with the ever increasing size & scope of gov't. Republicans of late have been spending way too much. Democrats are edging us ever closer towards a European socialist ideal. Mike is the people's candidate so he needs to emphasize returning the power of gov't to the people. Reagan inspired and empowered the American people, and Huckabee can do the same.
Fight terror abroad & tyranny at home, and inspire Americans to build a better future for America and positively impact the world. I think Mike Huckabee could become known as America's President.
