Mike Huckabee President 2008

Gravatar It is a mark of a politician to focus
only on the political arena. It is a mark of a statesman to realize there is more to life than the political arena. MITT ROMNEY - YOU ARE NO STATESMAN!!!!!

Gravatar Oh boy, gov huck needs to go on the offense against Fred T and Rudy...mccain is toast... long before he takes aim at the mittster just for the simple fact their is no chance Fred T will pick huck as his veep and i'm doubtful rudy will but i'm pretty positive Romney would pick him as his veep if he got the nomination. Also, Fred T and Rudy have huge targets or should i say issues on their back that are being ignored by the repub, so i would think huck could get some serious attention and traction if he could get the lighbulb to go on for GOP voters regarding their view of Rudy and Fred T. Of course, going after the dems wouldn't hurt either.

Gravatar Blue,
Gov. Huckabee is not running for Vice President. He has surpassed McCain and Brownback and now the only candidate standing in his way of taking on Guiliani an (if he runs) Thompson, is Mitt Romney.

When Brownback bows out (which he should do NOW for the sake of the pro-life cause), Huckabee's support will equal Romney's. Among Romney's supporters at this point are a large number who are uncomfortable with his abortion record, but who supported him initially because, bad as it is, Romney's abortion record is better than Guiliani's. As soon as they see a viable, pro-life alternative, these people will leave Romney for Huckabee.

Thats why we're encouraging Brownback to quit and informing everyone we can about Romney's pandering.

Final note: We are not affiliated with the Huckabee campaign in any way, so one should never assume that what we say here is necessarily the policy or strategy of the Huckabee campaign.

Gravatar Good morning BSR -

I added you to my blogroll this morning.

My husband read the article to me about Mitt being "pro-life" and then wanting to let the states decide if they will allow abortions or not. I am so glad that we don't receive that kind of double-talk and confusion from Mike Huckabee.

Gravatar Great blog. I added yours to my blog links. Anyways while I agree somewhat with Mitt's current opinion I don't respect him at all. I have no idea where he stands. His opinions change depending on who he is speaking to and which way the political winds are blowing. We don't need another Bill Clinton, because that is what Mitt would be. I may disagree just a wee bit with Mike, I know where he stands and his sticks to his guns. I respect that very much.

Gravatar I don't agree 100% with Mike either - mostly I do, but truly I doubt there is anybody that I (or anyone) could agree 100% with on anything. As you said, just knowing that Mike isn't easily blown around by political winds and by a need to keep whatever audience he is addressing happy is a huge plus for Mike. I am confident that I won't get up tomorrow and see that Mike has made headlines for being a waffler like Mitt and Bill. It has been a long time since we've had a politician that is open and stands firm on his convictions.

Gravatar Yeah, i agree gov huck shouldn't be running for veep but hey a good card player keeps his...the bottom line is no way Fred T picks huck as veep and i think if rudy gets the nomination Fred T and Mark Sanford, who if he endorses rudy and brings s.car into his fold, might get the nod over huck but i can't see romney picking anybody else and expect to clean up the solid south in the general. Also, Rudy and Fred T have serious issues that are being completely ignored by the GOP base and at the moment i'm thinking huckabee now has the standing to get through to the base that these guys aren't worth the trouble. My advice to huck would be to go after those two, hope to close the gap with rudy and the others, than try to top out in a four man race. If his only focus is bringing down romney, he might take him out but in the process give rudy and fred a free pass to the nomination. In the end, i'm thinking the gop ticket will be made up of 2 from romney, huckabee, rudy, thompson, and sanford but who knows how it will play out.

Gravatar Blue,

You make good points, but for us this isnt about getting Gov. Huckabee on the ticket at all costs. If Huckabee doesn't get the nomination we'd rather have Guiliani than Romney. At lease Guiliani doesn't lie about his beliefs and pander. We respect that. As for Thompson, until he officially says he's running, he's a non-factor for us.

We stick to our beliefs....Brownback needs to leave the race and let social conservatives coalesce around Huckabee...then at least 25% of Romney's soft support will go to Huckabee and we'll have a 3-way race (Romney, Huckabee and Guiliani). Then, if Thompson gets in, we'll see how many of Romney's versus Huckabee's go to him. We guess more will leave Romney and he'll be done.
