Memo to Putz, Kurtz, et al:

We all saw the report that some government agencies reported a decline in the senseless bloodshed that is the Iraq fiasco. I hope it’s true and I hope the trend continues, but these reports have been rather less that accurate in the past, so my skepticism meter is on maximum.

We just don’t feel like putting on paper hats and breaking out kazoos and marching around like Little Lord Fauntleroy in mock ticker tape parades in our playrooms like it’s VJ Day.

Cuz it ain’t a victory. Cuz “only” 827 civilian deaths is still 827 too many. Cuz this is a failed policy. Cuz there is no military solution.
