And didn't Putz just get the COIN manual, which explicitly condemns his stupidity here? You cannot repeat cannot win in a counterinsurgency by simply killing more people. That shit is counterproductive for fighting insurgents.
Finally, I offer this little tidbit.
Attention, Putz: There have always been laws of war. Always. True, some groups and states contravene them, but that doesn't mean they're not established and absofuckinglutely necessary. Pretending war is anarchical doesn't make it so. That is all.

Heard this talking point this morning from O'Hanlon, who was on Diane Rehm's show. They sure spend a lot of time talking about it for something we'd never do.
