Gravatar from what I've read today, Instapundit's philosophy is one of selective forgetfulness equipped with the latest and greatest technology in blinders.

None of his anger toward and fear of Iran takes into account US actions throughout the years that provoked the Islamic Revolution. Is he angry that Iran has the balls to stand up to us? Is he afraid that Iran's protection of its interests in Iraq will prevent us from exploiting Iraq's resources with impunity?

Indignant though he (and a lot of neocons) is, Iran has a right to pursue peaceful nuclear industry, and we have no right to interfere with them in that pursuit. Demanding that Iran give up the nuclear fuel cycle is demanding that they accept slavery to their self proclaimed nuclear masters. No amount of military bluster or voluminous rantings about non-existent weapons programs will break their will, just as it would not break our will if we were in their position.

If US leaders decide to pre-emptively attack Iran, or any other sovereign country, they should be held personally accountable, and our country should be fined and made to pay the reconstruction costs.

It's once again time for the grown-ups to come back home and clean up the mess made by the neocons and Bushites.

Gravatar I'm an American who has lived outside of the USA for over 20 years. Reading Instapundit I see that it is more like a big echo chamber for Reynold's ignorance as to how the rest of the world really gets on. He and his allies live in a narrow, parochial reality that demonizes what it knows absolutely nothing about. Hence, the "Weimar" reference to a Europe that I know very well, but resembles nothing that I have ever encountered except when I enter his distorted universe.
