This is it, the end of my ever believing any politician about anything. John Edwards has broken my heart. I actually believed he was an honorable man, an honest man. Believed it, as you say, passionately. It's not exactly the fact of the affair, though that is certainly bad enough, but who among us can have no stones cast (certainly not me), it is the denial and lying for months and months. He's blown his political career, blown my hopes for his place in a new Democratic administration, blown his beautiful family's trust. He's just another scumbag, is what it comes down to. What a good time the wingnuts are going to have with this one.
Not a good day. I'm just so relieved that he isn't the nominee - that would have been a real disaster.
