I'm assuming we are talking about counterprotesting the Phelpites, and not the ACLU....if yes, count me in.
And remember--I'm imagining every member of the ACLU fucking loathes Phelps, possibly more than you do. They also hated the Nazis in Skokie. But they simply believe that free speech must be interpreted broadly. You may disagree. But don't ever say they LIKE the speech of a particular group, without evidence. The ACLU agrees with YOU, DPB, about publishing the Muslim cartoons. That doesn't mean they agree with you broadly, or the message in the cartoons.
If I ever meet any of these scum scucking dirtbags that hold a protest at a soldiers funeral I will go to jail.

The ACLU has hated America and American values for 60 years. They were much more subtle and discreet about it until 1999. The last 6 years they have been blatant and in your face with their hate for America and American values. This is just the latest of hundreds of examples since 1999 of their brazen antiAmericanism.

Actuallly, Fred Phelps is much closer to your party--given that he thinks, you know, God picks our leaders and punishes us for our wrongdoing. I believe that was in the Republican Platform, right?
Actually, jd, religious belief is non-partisan - you can find it in the Declaration of Independence.
Unless you're saying that the Declaration is more of a Republican document than a Democratic one, that is.

jd, where did you get the idea that I'm a fundamentalist? You've got to shed those leftie stereotypes, dude.
You seemed to think that you were offending me with religious references; that's why I was wondering.
But now I'm curious about your fury when writing of Christian Fundamentalists. I've worked with several, and in my experience, the stereotypes aren't true. They were actually very nice people who had strictly interpreted religious beliefs many of which I disagreed with. Their freedom to those beliefs is in the Constitution as well.
