Kossackistan is nothing more than a liberal/progressive mutual admiration society. A place where moonbat lefties can gather and pat each other on the back and tell each other how good and correct and righteous they all are.
Any dissent jeopardizes their pristine collective self image and therefor must be eliminated.
The Kos forum is nothing more than an echo chamber where truth is only permissable if it validates existing preconceived notions. Kim Jong il would be proud.

I read the narrative of the Pirate exploits and I think Darth Misha summarized the rating system best: Soviet. All posters are equal, but you have to be more equal to read the controversial posts. I'm sure George Orwell is proud.

Hey Bluto the Bloviator,
You made me laugh again so thank you! Your assertion that your comments have been disappeared is pure comedy. You can't see them at dkos anymore? That's pretty strange because I see about 350 comments....including every single one your band of circlejerk carnival freaks made.
Thanks for the laughs. I suggest you make some new user names and make further fools of yourselves!
Cheers!

Imagine that, tlh lib has lied again. All of the comments have been deleted tlh lib, none of them are visible. I'd take your word that the Kommisars can still see them, but I have no reason to trust your veracity.

They seem a little tense, I guess that happens when one goes around with their knickers knotted up.
Just remember Captain B that bananas bruise very easily so be gentle.

I posted to the comments on the day in question. I can't speak to what anyone else wrote. Perhaps they were violating your sites rules, though I have trouble believing that everyone who got "unposted" (or perhaps given an "accessibility modification") by the "trusted" broke one or more rules.
As to my comment, I challenge any of the "trusted" to explain to me what could possibly be considered offensive about the following legitimate question (closely paraphrased):
"Is there a way to read the removed posts?"
I made that single post, and yet the post was promptly and summarily "involuntarily unposted" by the "trusted".
Another "involuntarily unposted" comment essentially read "I don't see the trolls' comments. Are comments being deleted?" That one was also gone in a wink.
In Orwell's 1984, control of speech was placed in the hands of the "Ministries"--huge bureaucracies within which uncomfortable facts were removed from the papers and history books by trusted ministers according to the official, but quiet, dictates of the Party apparatus.
Within Daily Kos, control of speech is apparently placed in the hands of a decentralised (and therefore much more efficient) censorship apparatus. Any group of two or more "trusted" comrades can efficiently and quickly veto the speech of any dissenting source, thereby efficiently eliminating dissent from the forum.
I think we should certainly learn by example from the statist bureaucratic nightmare depicted in Orwell's book, but hopefully not by improving its efficiency...

At least "tlh lib" has had the guts to attempt a counterattack of sorts. His (or her) brave friends haven't provided much backup.
Take a look at the interesting conversation discovered by Emperor Misha at:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/20...4/2/14426/
93206
It is apparent that the progressive egalitarians at the kos operate have at least four classes in their little worker's paradise:
(1) "Superusers" with real admin authority, including deletion of entries and of entire diaries. This is not a surprise - a large website could hardly be expected to function without them.
(2) "Trusted User" Kos Kommissars with the petty power to hide your postings from the unwashed masses, even if they are not technically deleted.
(3) Said unwashed masses, including newbies, infrequent posters or the insufficiently lefty, and non-members just checking out the site
(4) Thought criminals who are not even allowed to see their own posts.
The kos system is, like any good lefty comintern, in fact a self-perpetuating oligarchy where those already on the inside can rate up their ideological soulmates to higher levels of power while downrating those they dislike, or fear.
All of which, while petty and, as Misha put it, Soviet, IS their perogative - it is THEIR collective ego farm, after all. It would be nice, however, if they had the honesty and courage to admit what they are really up to.

Bah!
I wrote:

I meant:
"kos kooperative" not "kos operate"
Getting sloppy on editing at this late hour. G'night.
