I think their is a provision in copyright law called fair use. I believe that if you arent making a profit off the image, and your use doesnt subtract from the value of the original work, and you attribute it, you are allowed to use it.

I just consulted a lawyer friend of mine, it's not a valid cease and desist letter, as far as the law is concerned. A proper cease and desist must at a minimum be notarized and sent certified mail if unavailable to hand deliver. Same principle when you get a served a summons, they can't email it to you.... something to think about.
I'm going to grab a pic of Ms. Schlussel (I would feel sorry for the guy she dates) and become part of this elite group.
