Gravatar " And basically since the Vietnam War, the military realizes that the press is the enemy, because the press is actually faster and more intelligent than the military is. They can assess a military situation long before the military figures it out.

Pelton has found the reason why so many journalists go on to successful careers as generals. Not."

Sorry to break it to Bluto (?) you but check out the new FM manual on Counter Insurgency that comes out today.

The US military now has confirmed that they are fighting an information war as well as one on the ground.

Can you name the number of al qaeda members as of the summer of 2001?

Could you name any major military victories by "al qaeda" as of today?

and could you give me the real name and other names of al qaeda circa 2001? (the interview was in 2002)

bzzzzt Times up!

Enjoyed your blog, don't get why someone so smart gets it wrong. Go to Iraqslogger and give us both barrels...or send me flowers ))

RYP

Gravatar Sorry RYP, but stringing some non sequiturs together doesn't do anything to ease my suspicions.

The fact is that, especially during Vietnam, the Press has behaved like hysterical ninnies and their reporting has shown that. Tell me again about the great military victory achieved by the VC during the Tet Offensive.

Now, if you're saying that you were misquoted, or that you meant to say "information war" when you said "military" you'd at least have an arguable point.

You are correct on the first point though, the Press is the enemy. Is IraqSlogger going to change that?
