How about the previous Fundie Middle School? The Board of Ed is looking into renaming that site right now.
The building currently houses the PASS (route 32) program, so a name change for the former Fundie Middle school is certainly in order. And Muriel's reputation for looking out for the vulnerable may be a good fit.
Thoughts?

Good suggestion Keith. I believe they already have a name and only going through the motions. It probably will be called the Anderson Middle school.
You should submit your request for the naming of the school to the Board.
Maybe next time you have coffee with a trustee or the board chair.

Hi Susan
Apparently someone has already seen it posted as the Anderson Middle Secondary School and someone else has heard district staff use the name also.

Maybe it would be appropriate to ask what names have been submitted after the public notice is done. That is if they follow their own policy # 4004.
Burton has stated that he would like the next school to be named, to be after George Preston. He did say he would do all possible to make it so.
So only time will tell. All submissions are to be submitted to the Secretary Treasurer. According to Mr. Greenwood they plan to announce the name in March. It does state that submissions from the public will be held in confidence. So if you want people to know what was suggested state they can release the information. Keith you should check with the immediate family and get written agreement before you submit your choice. It is one of the requirements; I'm sure Mr. Burton will in regards to Mr. Preston if he follows through on his past comments.

EDITORS NOTE ATTACHED: I see that the Library at the Township building has been named in honour of Muriel. Cool!
EDITOR NOTE: Yes it was announced at the funeral service today. Apparently an excellent speech by the mayor announcing it and it complied as well very closely with one of the few choices that the family also suggested with as Muriel was a long time serving Library rep for the Township. WELL DONE BOYS (see I do give credit where credit is due!), much better than a small meeting room in township hall! I will be commenting at greater length on this. However I believe a little more should be done as well.
