Gravatar Regarding the trucks on 216th St, I totally agree that the City should send a strong letter to the Township and there should be a lot more strong letters sent to them. What in the heck do you think trucks are going to do when they 'hit the great wall' at 40thAve? They either have to go up 40th to 232nd or down 40th to 208th or 200th. What sense does that make? This, in effect, will cost all consumers more money as the trucks will take longer, will use more fuel, more tire wear, more pollution and eventually end up creating another truck route that more residents won't like.

At the meeting on this issue I see that the majority of residents that were opposing the trucks on 'their road' had bought long after 216th was a designated truck route...Hello..

Nobody wants trucks, I live on 16th Ave. and I feel I take my share(over 1500/day). If these people can get a designated truck route removed from the system, I believe I'll work on getting them off 16th Avenue. Fair is fair.

C'mon people get real, lets share the burden instead of putting all the weight on somebody else. That goes for Wally Martin too.

Gravatar This whole issue has the familiar NIMBY ring to it. Yup, get the trucks off my road, and I don't care who gets them as long as I don't, is the attitude. I guess the folks on 232nd Street,or what ever street is chosen as the alternate, can just take a long leap in the lake. The Zero ave. folks should run a training class on how to dump your problem on someone else instead of comprmising. The 216th crowd could attend. Prince Alberts would gladly supply the tea and sympathy I'm sure.

Gravatar I'm having a little trouble right now waiting for Langley's newspapers to give unbiased news and opinions that show all sides of meaningful issues. As this and other blogs begin to have the effect that they should, we might see fewer examples of the Redwoods fiasco and more transparent government locally. The full light has not yet shined on all that can be said about the 216th ave. issue. Maybe the newspaper owners should shake up their management and relieve us all of the HO-HUM dribble that just keeps rolling on.
