Gravatar One thing I’d like to know is where the township thinks all those people going to their expensive grandstand are going to park? Specifically MAP is massively under-supported for parking spaces. In the last four years they have installed some truly exceptional facilities: beautiful softball fields (two of which double as soccer pitches) a high quality artificial soccer field and an excellent baseball park. Unfortunately except for about 100 parking spaces near the ball park no extra accommodation has been made for those people they are attracting to these facilities. I challenge my councillors to get a parking spot any weeknight after 5:15 pm between April and October..and don’t suggest we take transit because it essentially doesn’t exist in that area!

Gravatar Blair: You make an exceptionally good point and one that has been generally overlooked by Council. In addition to the new sports facilities, the church next door is also expanding and has talked to the Township about shared parking space in the area for Sundays and other church events. No doubt there will be more parking problems in the future. Thanks for raising this issue. I'll bring it up on your behalf at Council. Kim R.

Gravatar Blair wins the second "Smiling Gumby" Award for alerting us all of where the heck is the Parking for the 2363 seats at MAP Grandstand or the Taj Mahal as we like to fondly call it here at Langley Free Press.

Gravatar As usual. Kurt fails again as a planner.
