Al Irwin is right. Richter got front page coverage in the times for her web site, then she didn't bother to update it for four years.

Muriel Arnason is a contributing writer for this site? Look again! She's gone. One self-selving whiny diatribe was all she was willing to offer.

Muriel coasted along for a generation on council. Let's see this blog try and coax another bit of original thought from her. Good luck.

Richter will get tired of blogging soon enough, and in 2010, we'll all be able to log on and read about 2006 under "current issues" like we can read about 2002 on her web site.

The reason no councillor seconds her motions is because she is a self-obsessed grandstander. The reason she keeps getting re-elected is because Muriel is gone now, and the voters value an unproductive, anti-social iconoclast on council to stir things up.

In 20 more years, perhaps council can hand Richter a silver plate or a gold watch and move on. Maybe by then, Sandra Hulbert will finally have won a council seat, and be in a position to take up the Muriel torch.
