I agree that facilities are needed in Aldergrove. Although it would be ideal to expand the Blair pool and every other recreation facility, it isn't pratical to suit the needs of Langley residents. Aldergrove residents have to travel approximately a half-hour to get to an indoor recreation facility. Besides, adding a recreation facility in Aldergrove will help to revitalize this area of the Township.

Another brilliant idea from Richter: build a pool in Willoughby, 2,000 metres from the best pool in the country - the Walnut Grove Aquatic Centre. Very fiscally responsible indeed.

Dear Pundit:
Again, you obviously misunderstood what I wrote. I did not say we should be building any new pools. I did say that "IF" new or expanded pools were required, there are better locations for them.
Quite frankly, I think we should be spending Parks & Rec dollars on expanded soccer facilities, especially in Willoughby. Soccer is a great sport for children and there are a lot of children enrolled in it. Unfortunately, their numbers are growing faster than available fields.
I anticipate this trend will continue and ultimately I would like to see the Township develop regional class soccer training facilites (like Kamloops) to enhance Sport Tourism in the community.
Hope this clarifies my position for you. Thanks for writing in!

Public swimmingpools are cesspools. I hope that shuting down the pools is part of the pandemicplanning
