Oh good as long as the headlines screamed!! ...that's the important part for slates!

Gravatar I actually heard the report on CKWX and the moderator sounded real cranky. I think he must live in the Township and is going to be another unhappy recipient of his tax notice.

Its hard enough to take for this year, but when you know ahead for years that it's not going to get any better, that makes a hard pill to swallow. Imagine a pill called 'Alberts' ugh!

Gravatar Hey there money, if anyones a slate its Prince Alberts & Co. Were you not at the all candidates meeting? All hell broke loose that night as he was exposed for being the 'slate artist' that he is. Actually its the first time I've seen that man stuck for words and with a red face on top of it.

I would gladly have paid admission for that show. He was presented with a list he had made up and was passing around from his 'Birthplace of BC',of Councillor's that 'he could work with' and when he was questioned, he indeed 'fessed up', what could he do, he was the fox in the hen house with his slate.

Gravatar AHA.....but HE WON didn't he, and doing very well thank you!!

Gravatar Unbelievable! The Langley Times Editorial basically for all intents and purposes seemingly says that the 15% is an ok tax hike! Am I reading this Editorial wrong or what? Yippie, they reduced their first draft budget hike by a few points, wow. 15% over three years is one of the largest increases in the GVRD ever. Police and fire is no excuse buddies! Cut the blacberries, ads and methinks tons more could be cut. Does anybody at the Times live in Langley at all anymore, is that why they don't crticize this Mayor's Council anymore? What unmitigated gall supporting the metaphorically fiscally bankrupt Mayor Alberts'Township Council! Seniors on fixed incomes in Langley are being nailed once again!

Gravatar And I suppose Kimmy and the proprietor of this blog are well qualified to accuse someone else of being "fiscally bankrupt" given their work experience under the Glen Clark NDP government of the mid to late 1990s. Pardon the pun, but the fast ferries fiasco was the titanic of all financial boondoggles this province has ever faced, and years later, we were still paying for them. And guess what, since Kimmy ran under the Glen banner, she must've approved of that disastrous spending. And now she has the gall to point fingers at all members of this council except herself?? Wow!!

Gravatar Gone Anon get with the times! You are living in the 90's past. This is 2006. Go time warp back to the 50's where you would have loved working for Senator Joseph McCarthy! Now stop wearing your bell bottoms or whatever you wore then and get on with it!

Times have changed, even your precious commie Glen Clark has been promoted to a capitalist VP in a corporate empire! Some commies I guess do change their stripes, huh? I guess that you also then agree with 15% tax increases in Langley Township just because your commie nemesis Kim Richter is the only one that voted against it! By the way the fast ferries of Langley is the Alberts' Council $3-4-5 million Grandstand. Enjoy it you will be paying for it for years.

Get real - better still get a life! Try reading something more complicated than your pablum readers digest! Your tired old lines are getting way too long in the tooth.

Gravatar He might be doing very well money, but sad to say a lot of the Langley Township taxpayers won't be able to say the same with all the spending and tax increases. After all, I don't see Prince Alberts stepping to the plate to pay for all this, if he's doing so well.

Further more, by the time the next election rolls around the tax payers are going to be so p'd off that he won't stand a chance of getting back in. I just hope that our debt won't have got to the point of no return by then.

Gravatar Kurt could quite easily just walk away and hand the bag of hammers over to the poor soul that wins the next election willy. The hammer sack will likely get heavier over the next 2 - 3 years as well. Museum anyone?
