Turn the place into a school for loggers

This school was wonderful and caring place. The community and the district have lost an irreplacable gem. As Ruth said in her plea to the Board, we can not package this up and take it elsewhere but we could have brought students from all over to experience South Carvolth's environmental program. Anything the distict thinks of, pertaining to trustee McViegh's motion, will pale in comparison to what they had but could not see. And now the district is losing students and that eliminate the miniscule gains the board though it would achieve. Hence depriving more funding from the students.

Jill, where are the students going to go if not a school in Langley?

Hall's Prairie, a four minute drive from South Carvolth in the Surrey school district. It's now the closest school to my home. And I sitll consider it part of my neighbourhood. So that is were I and many other parents have registered for September.

Jill, if other Carvolth parents are doing the same it represents a pretty big drop in enrollment for Langley SD #35 that represents a drop in funding as well. Would this be of concern to the Langley School Board? What kind of annual $ would this be?

Well, so far I know of 28 kids leaving the district. And we had a petition, signed by parents saying they would pull their kids from the district, with 72 children listed. That represents more than $550K lost funding. With the projected savings of only $200 - $300K this means the district has $150 - $250K less for spending on education.
