IMHO school is for learning and not for the preaching of any religion. If a parent wants to indoctrinate their child in religion, they can send him/her to their church or temple etc. It would then be their responsibility as to the standard of his religious intake.
The beauty of a child's mind is it's ability to absorb information. IMO a parent has to choose carefully the age where the child is exposed to religion, or that child will miss the opportunity to sort out that side of life for himself.
A touchy subject no doubt, but always worthy of thoughtful discussion.

Look what the Arab theocracies do to a child's mind. They do it so well that they blow themselves up for goodness sake. The indoctrination of children is not difficult, even when it concerns innocent but mistaken information. It makes me shudder to think parents don't take this more seriously.
