It's funny that nobody said they should stay until the job is done.
A worthy thought might be that the more civilized we become, the more reluctant we are to go to war. A perfrctly sensible attitude I am certain. It's a damn shame though that the peoples of the world who still live with their minds trapped in the biblical age don't see it our way. The other damn shame is that those same twisted minds have access to weaponry that is too modern for their blinded logic.

Most Canadians will surely welcome the Federal Accountability Act.
Hopefully similar legislation will come from Victoria as well. I'd like to see the end of some of the massive political fundraising that goes on.
And perhaps civic politicians could move something like this through the UBCM with the idea that local politicians would have to live under similar standards.
Imagine the 2008 civic election (both City and Township) if candidates were required to campaign under similar limitations.
But I do have at least one concern regarding political donations.
Watch the rush of both corporate and union donations before the funding ban takes place. This occurred with the last political donation reform. Donors gave huge amounts of money to parties just under the deadline.
The Federal Accountability Act will:
• impose a complete ban on contributions by corporations, unions, and organizations;
• lower from $5,000 to $1,000 the annual limit on contributions an individual can make to a particular registered party;
• lower from $5,000 to $1,000 the annual limit on contributions an individual can make to the local entities of a particular registered party (candidates, nomination contestants, and district associations);
• lower to $1,000 the contribution that a candidate, a nomination contestant, or a party leadership contestant can make to his or her own campaign; and
• make it an offence to give or willfully receive a cash donation of more than $20.
