Brydon's Lagoon is a pretty little spot west 200th just south of 56th near the Hydro right-of-way (go west along the hydro-right-of-way where Michaud Crescent tees with 200th and you will get there pretty easily). It connects to the northern portion of Hi-knoll park and provides a very pleasant respite near some of the most down-and-out parts of Langley City. Just a stone's throw from the squalid apartments in the Linwood Park area it provides a place where people who would otherwise not have access to nature (due to infirmity or lack of transport) can get out. Due to its location and its ease of access (it is surrounded by a well-maintained gravel path and has lots of benches) it is used by hundreds of the very old (often accompanied by the very young) on a daily basis.
While the condition of Brydon Lagoon may not mean something to folk who live in big houses on big lots in the township it means an awful lot to a bunch of old, and poor people who live in some of the less favourable neighborhoods in the City. Maybe LFP could ask Cathleen what she thinks of the spot.
