Yuletide/christmas decorations are fine with me. They are part of a winter solstice tradition found in many cultures dating back thousands of years.

However I find overt displays of religion by advertising funded rags and supposedly secular government offensive. The Times and the City are alienating residents and readers. If they want to fan the flames of a culture war similar to that in the States, then they are going the right way about it.

Point of Inquiry had an interesting interview on the subject last week: http://www.pointofinquiry.org/?p=89

Thank goodness someone is holding bullchitz to account

Quaker, I agree with you that The Times and the City risk alienating residents and readers who are not Christians who will never see equal treatment of their holy holidays.

Get over yourselves.

Christmas is not about you. This is a time of giving so, please, just give it up.

Have yourself a festive little whatever and please don't rain on the parade.

Gravatar After today OK, I'm holding you personally responsible if you mention "rain" one more time!
