Even if nothing else comes of this in the way of audits, there should be a complete review of the cost of that blob of cement at McLoud Park.

Gravatar I drove by that "blob of cement" the other day, and even though there was no one there, it was all lit up. Nice waste of energy there. By the way, the lights did not make it look "grand" as the word grandstand implies.

Gravatar So who wouldn't want services to increase while keeping taxes down? Is Kim playing to the public or is this just classic unrealistic NDP-style economics?

How can you have full time firefighters without paying them?

Please,less campaigning and more cooperation.

Gravatar I guess your arithmetic is done different than mine BLOB. How can you say 'keeping taxes down' when it says stark before your eyes in the local rag and for the whole world to see that it is going up 4.92%.

For this I get no services ie; no street lighting, no sewer, no water, no garbage pickup so you tell me how this improves my situation so much! As far as full time firefighters, we're still miles beyond a firehall, our place would be toast whether they were in the firehall or not.

I'm really getting sick of subsidizing all the perks for the huge mega subdivisions that keep coming in. They or the developers should either pay for all their services themselves or not put them in.

Gravatar Good point Queenie. The development puts a strain on all the surrounding infrastructure, and then the costs related to that extra load fall on the rest of the community. I don't know the solution to this, but the problem exists and has to be acknowledged and then faced. It was never the intention of township residents to pay for the growth of this municipality, so why do we put up with it?

The cost of things like more police and fire protection costs should be covered by the growth in the tax base. Exceptions to this should be evident, and explainable.

Gravatar Blob, cooperation means seconding motions that speak to the problems at hand. Kurt's six-pack will not second and discuss Kim's motions, and therefore the merit of these motions is never examined. In all of my experience, I have never seen such blatant arrogance towards a person who seeks to open up and examine things that impact our community. The quickest solution would be to show these individuals the exit door ASAP. They have shown absolutely no ability to be inovative in the ways of running the township.

The reference to Kurt's six-pack does not include Jordan Bateman. Jordan has put a lot of effort into his duty as councilor. He does not always follow the course of Kim Richter, but he has shown leadership and will listen to ideas. By contrast Kurt's six-pack remind me of the stone images on Easter Island. The difference at best is their ability to mumble some form of predictable mantra.

Gravatar That reference to the stone images on Easter Island made me laugh.

According to Wikipedia "the island once possessed a forest of palms and it has generally been thought that native Easter Islanders deforested the island in the process of erecting their statues."

Some things just never change.

Gravatar methinks, you are right about this:
Somethings are just a waste of time and not worth discussing. "The quickest solution would be to show these individuals the exit door ASAP."
