The minute you start blaming the media for not reporting what you said or did not say, the game is over. Look at BVZ and the Stockmeister. Don't tick off the media cause they have the last word. Time to kiss and make up or your goose is cooked. It must be tough not being able to find a seconder for your motions. Do you think it is because they are all men and consider you not worthy to be with them at table?

As the old American adage (often attributed to Mark Twain) goes: Never pick a quarrel with someone who buys ink by the barrel.

C.K. & Blair, The Times (kudos) as of late has actually become more balanced in reporting and who really cares anyway since the blogs in future will be leading the news more.
In fact this Editor knows that regional media like the CBC & the Sun & the Province specifically for instance sources stories from LFP as well as others that they have followed up on and actually have produced about 3 Langley stories to date as a result. One regional reporter in fact mentions that he specifically enjoyed the comments that you all submit from time to time.
It's at the local papers peril (especially Editors & publishers) to not provide all the accurate and non biased news. Politicians don't have to worry as much about ink by the barrel as they used too with the advent of chanels like LFP. In fact local media bias concerns and basically some concerns of local reporting inaccuracies were instrumental to starting discussions with this Editor and Cllr. Richter which led to the creation of LFP.
Our readership has more than doubled in less than 3 months and increases exponentially. But lets not fool ourselves while growing dramatically local blogs like LFP don't have the readership yet of the local press. Not by a longshot. But we do know that the press, politicos federally, provincially and municipally as well as the political activists and politically concerned are fervent readers (including education and health care). Thats a powerfull and influential group. Remember only a handfull of activists have caused many a revolution in history in every case.
And before we forget. Thank you all. You make the difference. Thanks for caring about our community even if we don't all agree on everything.

The Vancouver Sun (page a11) has an editorial that more or less agrees with Kim. The author is Harvey Enchin. It's worth reading if a paper is handy.
