I watched the performance of the male councilorts when the township meeting was televised on Shaw Cable. I deeply felt the embarassment that these men (Boys?) should have felt for the way they treated Councilor Richter. Shame on them.

I have to say that LP certainly is quite on the front on this matter.
Seems everytime LFP postings hit the nail on the head there is no comment on LP. Sort of says allot don't you think? LP can certainly post front page news fast, wonder why there is no comment now? Seems it was the same when someone was trying to run a raffle without a license. No comment leaves everyone to speculate.

As an elected official of the Township I think JB is bound by the community charter and if he were to comment it may well result in legal action. I think possibly other elected officials are silent as this is still 'in camera'. When all is said and done the Community Charter prevails and many comments made on this blog would not pass the test of time versus the Community Charter and land dealings - especially involving three jusridictions like the Dickson Pit did. LFP may find out they are wrong just like the tree issue on the Willoughby Park which cost someone alot of money with a judgement in favour of the Township.

With it, you must be talking about the Mayor then as he is the only one talking freely about the issue. Will this now mean that the rest of his 'Good Ole boy's Club' will go after him for speaking so arrogantly out of in-camera? My guess is they will go after Richter and all she ever said is that she can't talk about it because she was obviously prohibited by the in-camera restriction. This is again a blatant double standard.

I am furious that the only way to object about any excesses/abuses of the Township Council is to take them to court. We looked into this and found that the Province no longer has any go to appeal process about our local governments.
So bring lots of money for lawyers and expect delays and counter law suits from the municipalities in the form of probably municipal legal costs and counter law suits to scare off any challenges to how the municipality abuses their powers.
Read the real story in this previous Langley Free Press previous article about the last legal challenge that essentially chased off the taxpayer's challenge to Langley's double standard environmental laws.

"With It!" is very wrong. The issue never went to any arbitration because of the very deep financial pockets of the Township compared to a local taxpayer's concerns. Not because he lost the case. Because he could nort afford to fight the Township!

With it: Who seems not to be. LP has two posters so if JB is afraid to post what is front page news then SK could post. That is why your thought is invalid IMHO. The fact they have posted nothing says mountains in my book.

My concern with deep pockets for legal fees is 'whose money' is filling those pockets. The municipality is spending freely (not wisely) with taxpayer dollars and there is no accountability. Does anyone know the legal budget? The expenditures are hidden under the guise of confidentiality. Everyone knows about the award (millions) to the motorcyclist who went through the gap in the road barrier, but the legal costs are confidential???? How much is spent litigating against its own citizens? I think the public in general would be horrified to know what they (as taxpayers) are spending on lawyers fees.

Occasionally, art above and beyond Rambo XII does come to Langley. To those of you who are interested, here is information on upcoming films that normally do not make their way into the suburban market. The films are a true benefit to our community. Langley Film Nights.
