Susan,
While you collect signatures for amalgamation, what would it take to reduce the number of School Board Trustees as you suggested? After all, the Langleys aren't anywhere near the size of Surrey as your numbers show.
Also, it seems that not of the current trustees can play well together. Wouldn't it be wise to clear the sandbox, sift the sand clean and start with a whole new slate?

Stay out of the sandbox INFORMED and the sand will remain clean.

I agree with you on your comments. The same process is required for amalgamation and or reduction. It is more economical to do it all at once. There would be the annual savings of the indemnity and costs for those two seats. As well, if done at the same time, there would not be the need to to pay for the cost of going through the process twice.
I believe the Minister would be more interested in the amalgamation of the electoral ballot - not sure where she sits with the reduction. Since the Liberals did not reduce the Prince George riding where she is MLA to attain voter parity not sure if she would reduce another area. It probably would be politcal suicide for her. I believe the BCCLA is in the process of preparing a case in regards to this very issue "the lack of voter parity within our government".
It is heating up in a lot of areas like conflict of interest and voter parity. There are several groups now interested in the documentation that is available. These are areas of interest to me since both these issues apply to school district #35. If you check the archives on LFP, anyone can see what my opinions and concerns are surrounding the current Board of Education. It has not all been negative but as Trustee Bech has stated there are still areas that could see improvement, especially in the communication area.

That's a real bright comment. Guess its not appropriate to ask intelligent questions here.
