Kudos on your initiative to spend the night on our mean streets with the RCMP. They don't deserve the bad rap they are now getting over the airport taser incident. Your story proves that. Again kudos. How come Mayor Alberts and his trained boys on council have not done this?

Good on you Kim Richter. Nobody can say that you are all talk and no action.

Kurt Alberts always seems to only be cutting ribbons or shaking hands or making sure that his pictures get published in the local papers.

Meanwhile, our taxes pay for his councils constantly upward spiraling spending and taxes! Thanks to Alberts and his buddies on council, taxpayers now own a golf course, a restaurant, a duck lake and probably a lot of other things that we dont even know about because its all been decided behind closed doors!

Then there’s Councillor Kim Richter who always votes against Albert’s council's tax increases and his over-budget spending like on the 56th Ave Grandstand, the new ¾ of a million dollar lacrosse box tarp roof behind LSS that will probably catch on fire one day from a tossed cigarette butt and every other stupid spending idea they have like a botanical garden across the street from the grandstand that Council is now handing $25,000 to consultants to study! But the Mayor’s already named the park so why even spend this!

Richter warns us about a Translink like water board and goes out with the cops till 6 AM to see what problems the cops really have. Then she tells us what the problems are and what she would do about it.

When you watch the Monday council meetings, she is the only one who really seems to listen or care about what people have to say. She isn’t looking at her computer or cell phone or giggling with the guy next to her when people are talking to Council. She always asks questions, and tries to teach business ,she is a business professor after all, to the guys on council.

Richter listens, learns and is the only one on council including Mayor Alberts who really seems worried about taxes.

So why not become our Mayor too?

Alberts always wears turn of the century outfits in Fort Langley. Maybe he could continue to do so as Fort Langley’s official town crier when Richter beats him for Mayor. He can then still shake hands, give silly speeches, cut ribbons and get tons of press pictures. The "Gassy Jack" of Langley!

Then get Richter into the mayor's office to do the important business to stop the annual spending and tax increases.

Elect Richter for Mayor in 2008!
