Gravatar Susan,

While reading the the paper (I can't remember which one) I'm pretty sure I read that the Township/City/Board have no input on the formulation of the school board, its makeup or the number of trustees. That this is a provincial matter and that if you want changes that you have to go to the provincial government.

Did I read that right?

Gravatar The school meetings minutes link you link to is a joke. Only how nice and good everything is. Where are the school board real minutes? Are there any to review at all? Or are they just meaningless garbage spin that the trustees regurgitate?

Gravatar Hi Blair:
It is the Minister of Education who has the legislative authority, under section 30 (4) of the School Act, to vary trustee electoral areas.
The petition has been accepted and has been forwarded to the Minister for consideration. I have met the criteria set by the governance department.

The Board unanimously as a whole in their infinite wisdom has chosen to ignore this way of increasing funds to the classroom. It appears their choice, as a whole to increase funds in the district is to close schools
