Susan, I think the problem is that so few people are well informed about school district issues. Your points are well thought out and valid, but even the trustees probably aren't well enough informed to pick up the ball on the specifics. It may be a better approach to simply point out that despite the enrollment decline, the board office still carries a full complement of employees and has undergone no noticeable cutbacks. How can administration cause so much grief for so many children when they haven't even looked at their own house.

Thank you Darlene I'm glad for your insight on this. You hit the nail on the head. I hope that the Trustees will take a real hard look at the area that does not directly affect our children or schools. They asked for ideas to be able to keep some schools open. When ideas are given it is almost as if it has fallen on deaf ears. I guess we will have to get some of the Uplands students to sign for us. Maybe then the message will get through

The big issue is how to elevate better the public's awareness of their school district, board and urgent issues? Also how do you get voters to vote and be aware of who to vote for. This site reaches the key informed who care but not the voting masses yet. Then the problem is of course is the pathetic voter turn out for school board. Maybe the answer is a slate for school board with a strong larger better financed and media savvy competent team.
