When watching the video link it's really hard to imagine any of the group leaders as being able to solve the present and future transprotation problems that we face. Any one of them would soon experience more critisisms than Kevin Falcon, and our traffic conjestion problems would linger on. Not only is the GVRD growing, it is INTENT on growing. Traffic snarls and greenhouse gas emissions are symptoms, but our constant growth is the cause.
What I would like to hear about, is how in the future the need to commute to a large portion of our jobs can be illiminated. I am referring to the fast developing work flexibility that will develop from the electronic connunication age that we are really just on the threshold of implementing to its full capability. There are countless numbers of people even today, that need not travel to their place of work. One has to be curious how this will factor into our futute in transportation.

I've watched your video clip, heard your rhetoric, read your paper and listened to all of your scary scenarios. I think that it is a shame that this desperately needed transportation infrastructure should be opposed in an attempt to discredit a provincial government that brought us out of the dark ages of the NDP when NOTHING was done for transportation in the South of Fraser Region.
Forty years ago, the founders of Earth Day said that we would all be wearing gas masks by now.
Thirty years ago, scientists were reported a cooling trend in global temperatures from 1945 to 1970 as they warned that the next ice age was fast approaching.
Twenty years ago scientists identified that the ozone layer over Antarctica was thinning at a dramatic rate.
Fifteen years ago, the threat of “global warming” (“greenhouse theory”) was sure to be the death of us all!
Now, the ozone layer is recovering and recent, persistent cold temperatures have caused fateful believers to re-jig the “global warming” catch phrase to “climate change”.
Well, I call climate change “the weather” and I’m not convinced that the sky is falling, Chicken Little! I think that “Induced Demand” (build it and they will come) is an excuse to do nothing for our serious transportation needs. In fact, I think that all of this political fear mongering is a shame to the social democrats who think that they are educated!
Do your own homework on this people and stop scaring the kids!
Your emperor has no clothes!
