We wrack our brains over and over, as we look for the causes of our ailments, rather than repeatedly research and treat the symptoms. Of course that is the common sense thing to do, but when it applies to the deterioration of our world biosphere, we seem to miss the boat.

It amazes me that the common thread that connects all of the human causes of global warming is never mentioned. I am referring to the growth in the human population of the world.

Do we not realise that almost every statement connected with "success" has the word "growth" attached to it?
We have housing start growth. We have corporate growth. We have industrial growth, and countless other measurements of growth, and they all in some way bring about population growth within the margins of these statistics.

It does not require a scientist to conclude that we as a people are diminishing the existance of the very things that support ourselves and all other animal life on this planet.

The history of the micro world of Easter Island is not a complicated study, but few have attached the importance of this example, but readily admit to the cause! Are we in the macro world really any different?
Not in my opinion.

We see that the Chinese Government has wrestled with control over their birth rate, but were their motives eco, or economic? The reputation for wisdom of the Chinese people may be more true than we think.

So Methinks is growth good or bad? Personally growth in langley Township I believe has been extremely bad as our taxes are increasing compounded at least 5% a year no matter the extra tax revenues we have created by growth and we now have wreckless deforestation and flooding as well. Not to mention out of control row upon row of matchbox housing developements and now a desperate transportation effect with no adaquete public transportation what so ever. This is fast not remaining the pristine Langley I coveted or desire anymore to live in. Langley has become a sad mirror image in effect of Surrey City.

Jim, when it comes to Langley Township itself, there's not much that can be done when we have a mayor that's a town planner, and a he shows no other skills or consideration for our other necessities. That's been my opinion for the last 2 terms he has held office.
