I'm not much of a fan of Rick Mercer, but he does have a good point regarding what seems to be the basic character flaw of Prime Minister Harper.

That flaw first came to my attention when he conveniently broke a very solomn promise when he allowed Flaherty to destroy a large portion of the retirement capital of thousands of Canadian pensioners. That promise was that the PC Government would not interfere with the laws regarding Income Trusts.

If Harper claims to be a Christian, all I can say is that what he did was totally unnecessary, and bears no resemblence to what an honorable person would even consider.

Since that time there has been a couple of other examples. One of course is what Rick Mercer explains in the above article. Another that I believe was extremely serious was when he allowed the leakage of Barak Obama's private conversation concerning NAFTA. That was dirty politics as well as international meddling in the U.S electoral process.

In short, I don't think that Harper's so called "Hidden Agenda" was ever what it was thought to be. This guy is just a opportunistic politician IMO, that thinks his personal and political agenda should take precedence over his country and its citizens. We've now had three like him in a row! It seems that Canadians keep getting the best of a bad lot as their PM, instead of a true Canadian Statesman.

Libel chill. How very sad that PM Harper has seemingly now learned/inherited another characteristic from his mentor, Brian Mulroney, that a good defense is the strongest offence, a lawsuit. "Libel Chill" the common label for this tactic is in my opinion despicable when now used by the Conservative Govt leader against the official opposition leader. How two faced can one be given the paid conservative ads that tryed to virtually shred Mr. Dion personna. PM Harper's admission of "financial considerations" offered to Mr. Cadman is clear and undefensible caught on tape. Mr. Harper has still not clarified adequately his admission of this despicable offer. Mr. Warawa, don't count on this household voting for you again.
