Langley Times has additional coverage of this issue. Mayor Alberts says in the Langley Times:
"The interview was based on a police advisory and my response was that the police are (prepared). How can anybody interpret that as a welcome?".

The simple truth is that the Hell's Angels are not at a law abiding group of individuals. They will only obey by the law when it is in their own interests.
They are not worthy of any comment whatsoever. Period.

The Vancouver Province in today's Sunday Province on page A4 wrote the following that they call a clarification:
' The Province would like to clarify comments attributed to Langley Township Mayor Kurt Alberts in a July 10 article.
While the article may have implied the mayor welcomes the Hells Angels, in fact, Alberts strongly states he does not welcome the motorcycle club to Langley for the July 25-26 25th anniversary party. He says police will be out in force to ensure public safety during the event.
"The RCMP have a plan in place with extra resources to deal with anything that might arise and given those extra resources the rest of the community will also continue to be safely covered," Alberts said." '

This is it also as an Excerpt:
' Mayor's warning
The lead sentence in your story "Langley expects Hells Angels to be 'law-abiding' during bash" (July 10) is not accurate.
The lead-in would more appropriately have been "Langley Township Mayor warns event must be law-abiding and police have resource plan to ensure it is."
Kurt Alberts,
Mayor, Township of Langley '
