How can soemone be elected as trustee with only about 1000 votes (out of 125,000 population in the Langleys) when an existing trustee with more than 5000 votes (Diane Pona) loses her seat? Incredible!

Susan, the Langley Times has a great new label for you quoted yesterday: " Langley public education watchdog Susan Semonick..". Congratulations Susan, now run for school board chair and reduce and amalgamate the trustees!

I don't know how you do it Susan. My experience with the current board is that the more you are involved, the less regard they have for you. They have referred to those who faithfully attend board meetings as 'groupies' and treated us with nothing but contempt. They will not respond to a delegation and they will not allow comments at question period. I have put forward questions at question period only to have ben told that I am just trying to 'stump' the trustees. I don't understand how they can treat people so rudely, refuse to answer e-mails or return phone calls, and then attack anybody who dares to disagree with him. It is too much to endure having them waste so much of my time and then watch them give up their vote because they think that the Administration must be smarter than them – never mind that they were the ones elected by the public. You must have huge reservoirs of patience and perseverance.

No surprises at the Budget open house.
About 15 people showed up. All but one Trustee was readily availble for questions. Mr. Greenwood and Mr. Sommerfeldt were more than ready to try and answer any questions possed.
