When you think about the deal for land rental at the airport, there seems to be no evidence of any negotiating over rates. My suggestion would be that the township have an airport commission for business decisions other than the management of the facility itself. The present airport manager seems to have that end of it running well. |

Like Boundary Bay Airport, the taxpayers should call for public proposals of interest to manage all aspects of the Langley airport's management and property developement aspects. Put it out for tender and i will bet that the revenues (and lease rates) will naturally climb and the management will be more open and transparent with no more cliqueish insiders and good ole fly boy's club questionable airport management. |

The above comments do make more sense considering the present method of running the airport. |

Burt the problem is that come November at election time how will the vast majority of Township voters be aware of the fact that they should change all of the men on council? Unforyunately the population will just be focused on the big two for the Mayor's race between Alberts and Richter and the rest of council just won't change probably. Alberts if he wins will regain his silent slate and unfortunately Richter if she wins will be a lame duck with the likes of Bateman now in control of the back room boys without Alberts! |

There is a good chance that the public is fed up Jim, and cleaning up the whole house is in the cards. The loss of two or three of Alberts' faithful followers would be be enough though, to bring back a little sanity in township affairs. |

Burt, I also believe that there will now be a 4th contender for Township Mayor as well as reliably rumoured. I understand that Richter and this 4th mayor candidate wisely wion't declare their intentions untiI Oct. I imagine that this also apparently latest unknown dark horse along with the Rick Green unknown will not score even a blip on the polls against the main event of Alberts/Richter that the community is polarized for and anticipating. Neither of these unknowns have really been active in the community for the community's sake at all and are probably either opportunists or distractions for one or both of the main two sitting council candidates. Both are apparently right wingers too with access to some monies. My sources tell me that Alberts/Richter have *** planned a big advertising campaign*** and that Richter even has a ***substantial team*** ready for this main event in November. This election will be a kockout bout between these two main contenders. I obviously hope that you are quite right about the 3 or 4 councillors that will lose their seats. I believe Richter will take it but I am still concerned about the incumbent other councillors being reelected. |

Jim, when you say team, it rings too much like Mr. Tax and Spend (Kurt)and his silent slate. I remember when Scholtens ran the last slate in the township, and he was defeated largely because of it. I don't think Richter would make that mistake. |
