Gravatar Wally,

FYI, the mosquitoes in Fort Langley are not due to the shallow groundwater, they are a result of standing water (particularly in the lowlands of Brae Island) left as part of the receding freshet. Since the area (particularly the island) is fronted by the Fraser you would have to pump enough water out of the Fraser to bring its level down to have any effect. Given the volume of the Fraser (and its flow patterns) that is not a very likely option.

Gravatar Hi Blair
I agree there is a lot of water there.
The Salmon river well is a real gusher producing 38% of the Townships well water out of a total of 17 wells I believe a few more wells in the area would probably supply 100% of Langley's needs. I don't believe more wells surronding the Fort would negatively affect anyone.

Gravatar Wally,

I agree there is a lot of water there. Not enough infrastructure to move the water to where it needs to go but lots of water. That being said there is no chance that drawing out that water will have any effect on mosquitoes in Fort Langley since the water causing the mosquitoes is straight from the Fraser and no matter how much water you pull, you won't put a dent in the freshet from the Fraser.

cheers
