Gravatar It looks to me like the only difference between the low bidder and the chosen bidder is the history with the city. I presunme Ref stands for reference and if so they all rate the same which means they have all done a good job with existing/past customers.

I read where the councilors are gun shy due to the experience with the garbage collectors.
But mowing the grass and collecting garbage are quit different. A poor job on garbage means complaints from taxpayers. A poor job on mowing means the lawn looks a little ratty for a while. Big difference. And why can't they put in a performance clause. I have bid on certain other government contracts and those sure as hell had MANY clauses to ensure you did the work as contracted. How difficult is it to put in a clause to say that the work will be evaluated in 3 months and if its not satisfactory the contract is terminated. Thats not unusual.

In my opinion, either those responsible for contracts are really not that good at it or something smells here.

Gravatar That would be.....
Ferguson
Fox
Green (Mayor's salary+)
Richter
Ward
.......living off the public teat, call it like it is editor.

Edited Comment By LFP EDITOR - No argument there at all with your list W.R. but you forgot the others too.

Gravatar I opt for "something smells here". It's as though these characters simply want to waste our tax dollars.

Gravatar But at least Green and Richter have a good business sense to say no to tax and spend stupidity.

Gravatar Anon, your point is a major key to the whole problem at the council table. There is a glaring lack of business management skills with 6 of the 8 councilors making decisions.

Gravatar BTW not quite sure yet what happened at council yesterday but apparently the "Gold Plated Grass Mowing" contract was tabled. Not sure why and will find out more. Either killed by council or going for re tender I presume? Do you perhaps think that this LFP expose on the gold plated mowing tender process perhaps had anything to do with it? And yes the same bunch approved the 5% budget again for the second time! No surprise here! More tomorrow though!

See you tomorrow and Too Sunny today to be glued to the computer! So get out & join me in the glorious sunshine because it's going to rain tomorrow again! No postings today while I go play golf for the first time this year!! LOL!!! SUN ! SUN ! SUN!

Gravatar I know not many of you read the "Insignificant Blog to Nowhere"(because they only ever have one or ,at best 2, comments) but I just noticed they are advocating the lease on a particular B&B be re-opened. Typical of liberals. You would think the libs learned their lesson when they re-opened the
government workers contract a few years ago. But then what would you expect. Is the Blog to Nowhere is perhaps controlled by Clr. Bateman who appears to be controlled by Coleman?
