Why would Min Bond, the LTA, parents, or anybody else be surprised by this? The school board must be spending more time and resources trying to 'spin' recent happenings than anything else. They come up with their own, unique way of calculating capacity that will be used only for LSS; they publicly misrepresented statements by the Minister to claim that she supported their decisions; they interpret Aldergrove's concession to their ultimatum as 'support for a middle school' instead of submission in the face of a threat; and they totally abandon the HDS Middle school families, absolutely disregarding all the promises they made during their 'consultation' process. Add to this that they are taking advantage of a rookie reporter to convince her to publish extensive pieces to try to justify their decisions so that only one side of the story is made public. Over this term of office, these elected officials have gone from having public respect to being the least trusted, rudest politicians this municipality has seen in a very long time.
