I guess the trustees still think that the public is stupid. How can they point to the closures and reconfigurations and say that its a good thing they have saved the district so much money. Do they think we will all forget that they wasted over twelve million dollars on the fundamental program by buying and renovating buildings instead of using buildings that were empty. Do they think that anybody really believes that closing Murrayville will save them anything at all when they will now be busing hundreds of kids that they weren't before and they had to spend even more on renovations, extra staff, moving programs, and the loss of students. And the absolute ignorance to suggest that a vocal minority was trying to get them to do nothing. I didn't hear much of 'do nothing' but I did hear a lot of 'plan first', 'let the students transition over a year or so', 'how will this benefit students' and 'why are you refusing to show us the costs'.
Now they are spending all their money trying to get the middle school students excited about having lockers and free t-shirts and free meals. But they are still ignoring the parents' calls for safety and traffic planning and the public's request for the financial information.
Or maybe the three million dollars they just gave the township for a rec centre instead of paying for extra resource,LA, and special needs teachers is supposed to go unnoticed. These people need to not even run for re-election; maybe as just members of the public they will be able to get some perspective.
