Wow! What a day! As they get adjusted things should go better though, I would think...

Oh, Bonnie! I nearly cried I laughed so much (*** NOT AT THE KIDS... ***) wow! Where to start?
The dress code? OMG-- why not just call it a uniform, and get over themselves. I think I'll show this to Colette next time she whines about her uniform. Uptight much in the educational establishment? Those Navy guys who advise the school system must be gestapo wannabes! (there - this should torpedo Fred's career
I kind of admire Mike's attitude -- I would have shared it at his age. thanks for the vivid images!

I could hardly believe my eyes when I read about the kids back in public school... of their own free will! Has KY not surrendered to Bush's NCLB drivel and put some terrible state test in place a la TAAS/TAKS? Here in TX it's the 5th gr test that you MUST pass or be retained. I don't know that A or M will put up with the potential BS long enough to get that far. Seems like a load of
#%$@! for the joy of a locker magnet to me. AB can get lots of sympathy from A in regards to the multi-step math problems. Good luck!

I always wanted to go to boarding school too. Once I heard that Katharine Hepburn went to Bryn Mawr, that's all I wanted to do. Never made it. It wasn't til later that I realized Bryn Mawr = all girls. It lost its luster quite quickly after that.
Did marry a boarding school edjicated man, though. Is that close enough?
Tell the kids to keep their chins up. I feel for them.
