I know that stupid sound. It was the same stupid sound I heard with 3 week old Sean in the car (on the way to a LLL meeting to find out why he was chomping and biting while nursing). It happened in front of the entrance to Sea World where the cars were going a million miles an hour around the curve and post birth hormonal me could only sit and cry that God didn't want me to nurse. Next time I'll just hitch hike.

I was in Europe the summer of '86.....and had similar experiences, well, except the hitchhiking part, but there was the youth hostel part and the meeting strange boys part and doing lots of things my mother told me not to do....and we drove around in a car called the Duck (Ente, ja?). Entes are NOT fast on the Autobahn....

The most daring I got hitchhiking was when I lived in Marin County and relied on the bus each day to take me into "the city" as everyone calls it (S.F.) to work. It probably doesn't really qualify as truly hitchhiking, because lone drivers just wanted another person in the car in order to (legally) use the carpool lane. Everybody's got an angle, right?
